QUITO UNESCO COLONIAL CITY TOUR
The UN and its specialized agency, UNESCO in pursuit of preserving natural and historical places, declared Quito’s Colonial Center a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1978, and it became along with Krakow in Poland, one of the first cities to bear this title. We walk along the narrow streets of Quito to discover this charming city and its secrets towards the city’s historic district. This is a walking city tour. Our Visits include San Agustin Monastery an its impressive Sala Capitular. Independence Square, flanked by the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, and the City Hall. Stroll past El Sagrario Church and marvel at the exquisite stone facade of La Compañía Church and its awe inspiring golden altar. Visit San Francisco Monastery, built over the ruins of an Incan Palace. Ride up the road to the top of Panecillo Hill for a breathtaking view of Quito. Return to your hotel or you can choose to stay in down town for some leisure time.
