This tour combines a Quito City Tour with the Equatorial Monument. In an exciting tour visiting Quito’s colonial town and the outskirts of the city in a journey that will make the best of your time. We will visit the San Agustin Monastery and its impressive Sala Capitular. Continue through to Independence Square, flanked by the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, and the City Hall. We then stroll down to the “El Sagrario” Church and marvel at the exquisite stone facade of the “La Compañía” Church and its golden altar. Visit San Francisco Monastery, built over the ruins of an Incan Palace. Ride up the road to the top of Panecillo Hill for a breathtaking view of Quito. At the end of the city tour we will go to the Middle of the World where the equatorial line divides the northern and southern hemispheres. We will visit the main monument built in honor of the French scientific expedition that arrived in Ecuador in the XVIII century to determine the correct location of the equator line. Here you will have the opportunity to see the Equator Monument and to visit the IntiÑan Museum, a scientific and cultural museum, located in the exact crossing of the Equator Line, where you will experience the fact of living in the middle of the world.
