LIANA LODGE

Liana Lodge is located in the Amazon rainforest on the banks of Arajuno river, a tributary of Napo river. With a private car the lodge can be reached in just 5 hours from Quito; the final destination of the trip is only accessible by canoe – a real jungle experience.

In our eco-lodge our guests stay in 9 cosy double cabins built with natural materials according to the local architecture and have private bathrooms, hot water and wide terraces.

Together with our local guides you will enjoy hikes in primary rainforest and a variety of other activities or simply enjoy a few hours of the silence and the tropical vegetation from your hammock on the balcony of your cabin.

Activities during your stay at the lodge can be chosen based on your specific needs and interests. We will discuss and define a specific excursion program for you personally on the day of arrival.

All hikes and other activities in the forest and at the local sites take place after breakfast at 9am until noon and begin again in the afternoon at 2:30pm. Between activities you will enjoy an exquisite meal in our restaurant and a rest in your cabin.

ACTIVITIES – LIANA LODGE

  • Ceibo:
Hike in the rain forest to the impressive „Ceibo“ tree. Length: approx. 2 hours  
  • Mirador:
Hike in the rain forest to a nice viewing point (Mirador) with view over part oft he island Anaconda Length: approx. 2 ½ hours  
  • Rio Rodriguez:
One-day hike through the rain forest to a crystal-clear river (possibility to take a bath) Meal served at the Rio Rodriguez Length: approx. 5 hours
  • AmaZOOnico:
Visit and guided tour of the rescue center for animals, a project of Selva Viva You can hike through the forest (approx. 20 minutes) or take the canoe Length: approx. 1 ½ hours  
  • Island Anaconda:
Walk on the island across the lodge and visit of traditional plantations (Yucca, coffee, bananas, cacao, Papaya etc.) Visit of a Kichwa family (optional) Length: approx. 2 hours  
  • Fishing and gold panning:
We will show you how Kichwas pan for gold and the utilization of the traditional fishing net. You have the opportunity to try both activities yourself. Length: approx. 1 ½ hours  
  • Building of a raft:
You build together with your guide a traditional Kichwa raft made from balsa wood on which you float down the river. Length: approx. 1 ½ hours  
  • Tubing down the river:
From Puerto Barantilla you can float down the river on a tube back to Liana Lodge. Length: approx. 1 hour
