Day 1: Quito and the Middle of the World Monument

Quito est la capitale d’Equateur! Vous allez découvrir l’histoire de cette ville magnifique en visitant son centre historique. C´est un tour à pied. Là, vous visiterez: le Monastère de San Agustin avec son majestueux Salon Capitular; la Place de l’Indépendence où se trouve le Palace du Gouvernement, la Cathédrale et le Salon de la Ville. Après vous pourrez admirer la magnifique architecture de l’église El Sagrario, La Compañía et Le Monastère de San Francisco qui fut construit sur les ruines d’un Palais Inca. Ensuite, vous monterez la Colline “El Panecillo” (Vue panoramique de Quito).

At the end of the city tour we will go to the Middle of the World where the equatorial line divides the northern and southern hemispheres. We will visit the main monument built in honor of the French scientific expedition that arrived in Ecuador in the XVIII century to determine the correct location of the equator line. Here you will have the opportunity to see the Equator Monument and to visit the IntiÑan Museum, a scientific and cultural museum, located in the exact crossing of the Equator Line, where you will experience the fact of living in the middle of the world.

Day 2: Otavalo Market

The Otavalo Market is the most famous Indigenous market both in Ecuador and Worldwide, known for its fine clothing and handicrafts.

The “Otavaleños” are the indigenous people that live in the Otavalo Valley, in the Province of Imbabura in Northern Ecuador. The Otavaleños are a very prosperous community of skilled textile workers, who gather to sell their products at the market in the city of Otavalo as they have for centuries. Regional markets have played an important role in Indigenous life, providing regular gathering places for trade and socialization. Retour to Quito.

Day 3: Cotopaxi Volcano

Early in the morning depart from Quito through the “Avenue of the Volcanoes”. We will notice the magnificent scenery surrounded by many volcanoes on the way. We will visit the highland areas known as “paramos”, a unique ecosystem that provides water to the lowlands. Upon arrival to the park´s gate, we need to check in and then continue to the Limpiopungo valley and its lagoon. If the weather is favorable, we will be amazed by the perfect cone shape Cotopaxi volcano. Retour to Quito.

Day 4 : Galapagos Experience

From Quito flight to Galapagos, to live the best experience in the enchanted islands.

Day 9: Quito – Lima – Cusco

Flight from Quito to Cusco. Arrival, time to rest to acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 10 : Cuzco City tour and 4 Nearby Ruins

In the morning city tour Visiting to the most attractive places in the city and naturally the four most important nearby ruins: Qenqo, one of the finest examples of a rock artfully carved on site showing complex patterns of steps, seats, geometric relief and a puma design. Puca Pukara, situated on a hill with superb views over the surrounding countryside Puca Pucara was more likely a tambo. Tambomachay, commonly referred to as the ‘Baños del Inca’ or Inca baths, Tambomachay was a site for ritual bathing and Sacsayhuaman, Inca fortress, which visitors cannot fail to be impressed by the beauty and monumental scale of this important Inca construction. Free afternoon to enjoy Cuzco.

Day 11: Cuzco – Sacred Valley – Ollanta – Aguas Calientes

Full day excursión to the Sacred Valles of the Incas, by the Vilcanota River. We will have the opportunity to share closely the peasants’ customs and bargain with vendors at the typical Indian market of Pisac, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Lunch in a local countryside restaurant. After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. In the afternoon transfer to the train station and departure to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in Aguas Calientes

Day 12: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Early transfer to Aguas Calientes bus Station to take a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the marvelous Citadel. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the sacred sun dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure. Lunch at a local restaurant and a late afternoon return to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 13: Cusco – Puno by Pullman Bus

Transfer to bus station and departure to the city of Puno. The ride, which takes approximately eight hours, will allow you to contemplate the wild meadows of the Andean plateau and also typical andean towns. There will also be brief port of calls at the little chapel of Andahuaylillas, Wiracocha’s Temple at Raqchi, La Raya, and finally at Pucara. Arrival to Puno. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 14: Puno – Titicaka Lake – Puno

Early in the morning, we take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating “Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora”. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through the generations. Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch. Then we will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight.

Day 15: Puno – Juliaca – Lima

At convenient hour transfer to the airport and departure to Lima. Arrival and connection for the international flight and return to your country.
