DAY 01 LIMA

Arrival to Lima’s international airport. Reception and transfer to selected hotel. Check in and overnight.

DAY 02 LIMA – CITY TOURS MODERN AND COLONIAL

Breakfast at hotel. At convenient hour CITY TOUR LIMA MODERN & COLONIAL: You will embark on a city tour of colonial and modern Lima. This tour includes the main square where the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Municipal Palace are found. Also a visit to San Francisco Convent and its famous catacombs is included. Then the tour proceeds to the residential and modern quarters of San Isidro and Miraflores and the tour ends up at the seaside where you will contemplate the vastness of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight.

DAY 03 LIMA – CUSCO: CITY TOUR + 4 NEARBY RUINS

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport to board a regular flight to Cusco.
Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. Morning free to acclimatize to the altitude. In the afternoon city tour Visiting to the most attractive places in the city and naturally the four most important nearby ruins: Qenqo, one of the finest examples of a rock artfully carved on site showing complex patterns of steps, seats, geometric relief and a puma design. Puca Pukara, situated on a hill with superb views over the surrounding countryside Puca Pucara was more likely a tambo. Tambomachay, commonly referred to as the ‘Baños del Inca’ or Inca baths, Tambomachay was a site for ritual bathing and Sacsayhuaman, Inca fortress, which visitors cannot fail to be impressed by the beauty and monumental scale of this important Inca construction. Return to the hotel and lodgment.

DAY 04 CUSCO SACRED VALLEY – PISAC MARKET – OLLANTA – CUSCO

Full-day excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, by the Vilcanota River. We will have the opportunity to share closely the peasants’ customs and bargain with vendors at the typical indian market of Pisac, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Lunch in a local countryside restaurant. After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. On our way back to Cusco we stop of at the picturesque Andean Village of Chincheros where the ruins of the Royal Hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui lie. You can admire the well preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square, and visit the beautiful Colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes in the portico. Overnight in your selected hotel in Cusco.

DAY 05 CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Breakfast at Hotel. The day starts with an early morning rise to transfer to Train Station for a three hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as “The Lost City of the Incas”, one of the best known examples of surviving Inca architecture. Arrive at Aguas Calientes Station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the marvelous Citadel. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the sacred sun dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you’ll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure. Lunch at a local restaurant and a late afternoon return to Cusco. Overnight in your selected hotel in Cusco.

DAY 06: CUSCO – PUNO BY PULLMAN BUS

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to bus station and departure to the city of Puno. The ride, which takes approximately eight hours, will allow you to contemplate the wild meadows of the Andean plateau and also typical andean towns. There will also be brief port of calls at the little chapel of Andahuaylillas, Wiracocha’s Temple at Raqchi, La Raya, and finally at Pucara. Arrival to Puno. Transfer to the hotel. Check in and lodging. Overnight.

DAY 07: PUNO – TITICAKA LAKE – PUNO

Early in the morning, we take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating “Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora”. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through the generations. Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch. Then we will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight at selected hotel.

DAY 08 PUNO – JULIACA – LIMA

At convenient hour transfer to the airport and departure to Lima. Arrival and connection for the international flight and return to your country.
