MT 308 LA SELVA LODGE (5 days / 4 nights)

At La Selva Jungle Lodge, situated high on Lake Garzacocha, deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon region, we offer you the ultimate in luxury jungle experience.

Ours is a very special way to visit the Amazon rainforest. We have many exciting excursions, which will give you a genuine feeling for this important, beautiful and richly biodiverse region of the world. You can choose to trek, hike, fish, swim, paddle canoes, birdwatch, butterfly watch, photography or simply relax.

Trained Naturalist guides and Native assistants will accompany you during all your excursions as: El Salado, High Forest Trail, Walk by native’s House, Night Excursions, Ruth’s trail, Pedro’s trail, Chawamango’s trail, Little Chawamango.

MT 310 COTOCOCHA AMAZON LODGE ( 5 days / 4 nights)

The Cotococha Amazon Lodge is located at the east of Quito.

The Cotococha Amazon Lodge's area forms part of the Upper Amazon Basin, characterized by small Quichua communities and abundant vegetation. Also, the area is rich in tropical humid forests, one of the most biologically diverse with a high number of endemic species in flora and fauna.

Cotococha overlooks the amazing Napo River. The lodge offers beautiful and spacious bungalows, built according to traditional architecture. All bungalows have a private veranda with reclining chairs or hammocks to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of Ecuador's Jungle.

Cotococha Amazon Lodge becomes very romantic at night with lots of candlelight.

EXCURSIONS: This Amazon lodge provides its activities and excursions in a flexible way. You are able to design your own itineray day by day according to your interests:

  • Jungle Hikes to explore the surrounding forest with Quichua guides.
  • Local Communities : Learn about the native Quichua life.
  • Indigenours museum
  • Caves : The Jumandy cave is one of the most impressive.
  • Cascades : It exists many waterfalls such as the Latas cascade
  • Night walk
  • Wildlife : Visit the animal rescue centre Amazoonico.
  • Butterfly farm
  • Inner Tubing and Balsa : flow down stream on the great Napo River.
  • Rafting and Kayaking : no prior experience needed.

MT 312 JUNGLE CRUISE / 5 days - 4 nights

Day 1: Flight Quito – Coca, transfer to pier and navigation from Napo River through the Yasuni River upstream to the entrance of Jatun Cocha. Canoe exploration for birds and caimans observation.

Day 2: Bird watching and search for pink dolphins in the lake. Navigation in small row canoes until Tambococha lake to observe a great variety of birds and monkeys of the area.

Day 3: Hike in the jungle to discover Yasuni National Park’s great biodiversity, board the “Jungle Discovery” and leave up to the Napo River till the border with Peru.

Day 4: Walk in the morning surrounding the Cocaya lake system, return to the boat, we continue up to Castaña, visit the Castaña lake (fishing, optional hiking).

Day 5: Navigation downstream the Aguarico River to Napo River. Visit a Quichwa family to observe the elaboration of the chicha de yuca, (their typical basic drink). Return to Quito.


MT 313 SANI LODGE

Sani Lodge pairs a full service, first class jungle expedition, with ecologically friendly tourism. Sani Lodge is 100% owned and operated by the indigenous Sani Isla Kichwa community of Ecuador, which you will support with this eco tourism project.

In the heart of the Ecuadorian jungle, you will live in newly constructed private, thatch-roofed cabañas, the whole facility being powered by solar panels.

  • Climbing a 30-meter high canopy observation tower
  • Canoeing on the Challuayacu and around the lagoon
  • Night caiman watching
  • Pañayacu fishing expedition

MT 314 TAPIR LODGE

The Tapir Lodge is situated in the northeastern Province of the Sucumbíos, in the upper Ecuadorian Amazon region and in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. It was built in collaboration with some Siona Community members and private sponsors. The Lodge offers all kinds of facilities while being environmentally friendly (e.g. through the use of solar panels). Tapir Lodge offers the possibility to stay in a room in their 15 meter high tower with a spectacular jungle view.

Itineraries include various exciting activities, such as bird watching, canoeing, caiman watching, and piranha fishing, and may be 7 days/6 nights, 5 days/4 nights, or 4 days/3 nights.
